My mood while writing this blog: frustrated |
I am sooo frustrated! My hubby went back to work this week, and now Im alone with my 2 boys and my baby, which is fine. The problem is my boys dont listen to me! What do i do to get them to listen? I tell them not to run in the house, but what do they do?, continue to run in the house. They are always telling me "no". They fight with one another, and then cry after one of them gets hurt. I tell them to stop fighting, but they dont. I just dont know what to do! They just wont listen! Time out doesnt seem to work, cause they just laugh at me. HELP! I need some suggestions to disipline, b/c obviously what im doing isnt working.

Friday, 14 Aug Oh, I feel for you. I have two boys who are 14 months apart. They are much better now than they used to be because they are older. You do just need to do time-out and stick to it. If they get up or say no, put them back until they stay and do not let them get a negative reaction out of you (that's the hard part!). It might take several times but eventually they will get it. Reward their good behavior too...hopefully that helps. Hang in there hun. AlisaB99 -
Thursday, 13 Aug In theory time out is good, but my son would never sit in the time out and was WAY too strong for me to hold him there. Luckily my hubby is good at disciplining him and has him listening to me pretty good now. I know a lot of people are against spanking, but when it's the last resort sometimes it's worth a try to show them you mean business. Good luck! Diegirl -
Thursday, 13 Aug I am of no help as mine aren't listening well either. They get time outs and they help, but its not a complete fix. I think with the new baby its going to take a bit of time for them to adjust. Good luck! mommylove09 -
Thursday, 13 Aug I have no kids and am certainly no expert but i have seen enough Nanny 911 to know how valuable time out is. The boys are not listening because there are no consequences to their negative actions. Start doing time out - they will know you mean business but I am sure they will test their boundaries first. Don't give in. If you threaten them with time out you must follow through. Good luck.
