02-4-2008 - Starting Insulin

I met with my Diabetes Nurse today. I did have to start on insulin. I am obviously a little disappointed since my last pregnancy I was able to control my blood sugars with oral medications, diet and exercise. It was frustrating as well as worrisome about the high numbers that were showing up on my meter. I asked the nurse why this time would be so different. She said there would be two main reasons. The first is that I am 2 years older and this is a second pregnancy; the second reason could be a multiple pregnancy. I think I will go with the first. lol Although the idea of twins or triplets is exciting it also makes me incredibly exhausted just thinking about it! A friend has three year old twin boys and they tire me out just watching them! BUT I know that God will not give me more than I can handle (and I have been praying for patience!). It is all in his plan what happens.
