08-5-2008 - Unwanted Baby

My mood while writing this blog: angry, depressed, sad

Hi ladies,

just wanted to share something with you, Lastnight i went to my Grandfathers for dinner for a family reunion, my Dad was there, i havent seen him for nearly two years as i have moved and been working. I did tell my dad over the phone i was pregnant, he didnt say much then but he wasn't angry.

I went over to where my dad was standing and asked if he'd like to come with me to my ultrasound which was today and he said why would he want to do that, i said because you would get to see the baby, he looked at me and said "i've seen lots of babies" I replied with "but this is your Grandchild"...

My Uncle then came over and said to my Dad your going to be a Grandpa soon and Dad turned around and said "No i'm not, it's not my Grandchild" that made me angry! My Dad then started talking about my partner who he has never met or never tried to meet but all my other family there have met him, anyway my Dad started saying what if he doesn't make it home or does a runner and leaves you and the baby. (My partner Chris is over in Afganistan as he is in the Australian Airforce) i speak to him three times a day over the phone and then online on the computer. This really upset me and i just turned around and walked away i then broke down into tears and cried the whole way through dinner all my family tried to comfort me except my dad. he never apologised and he left straight after he finished dinner and didnt say goodbye to me or any of the family he just walked out.

I am so angry at him that i dont think i'll be inviting him to come see the baby at the hospital when it's born or to my wedding... I really dont want anything to do with him...
