My mood while writing this blog: ehh...

My visit went very very well. When the doctor did the U/S, the baby was moving a lot. It's funny how much h/she has grown. When he prints out the pix, we can no longer see the baby in one pix. The pix didn't come out as good as the other ones for some reason. I wonder if it's b/c the baby was moving a lot while he was printing them. Blood was pulled out again and this time it was for the AFP. I thought that we had done this the last time I was here, but I was confused. So he will do the AFP and I'll go back in 3 weeks for results. I have to go back to the specialist to get the 2nd Trimester checkup at 20 wks. So far, everything is going well. Thank GOD.

Now - to my IMPORTANT NEWS! I asked the doc' if it was too soon to get a gender test. He said " This machine that I have, isn't the appropriate one for that ( it's B&W & It's mostly shadows ). So he said, when you go to your specialist in a month, you'll be in the 20 wk range and they'll be able to tell you. But, he said " I can always try to check and see what we find." When he did a close up to the legs he said " I don't see anything hanging but don't be upset, perhaps the baby is not in the right angle. From what I can see here, "It may be a GIRL." NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! My DH and I want a boy soooo sooo bad. Everyone is saying that I have the look of a girl. My coworker did the needle and thread and it said I would have a Girl. Geez, why can't we choose?

Well Ladies - that's my story. I'm glad my DH went. He's definately going to the other one w/me so we can find out together.

Awh I am sorry you feel so disappointed about the thought of having a girl. I have a daughter and I love her sooooo much. She is super sweet and affectionate and shopping for clothes for her is an obsession. lol. You should probably start preparing your heart and mind telling yourself that it does not matter because there is a 50/50 chance. But your doc admitted the machine was not the right one so there is still a chance that you could be getting your boy.

Lucky you. At least you got to see your baby. I just had the dopler and hear my baby heartbeat and moving around. Oh well next time.

Glad your visit went well. I had one too yesterday morning. Hated to go out in the freezing rain, but it was well worth it. I was supposed to get doplar only, but it wasn't picking up the heartbeat, so I did get to see the u/s. Like yours, mine was so active & kept moving all around. No really good profile still pics. I get to find out on Jan 12 boy or girl. Good luck on yours...hope you get your boy.
