| 31-12-2009 - 3 Hour Glucose Test |
My mood while writing this blog: blah |
So, I had my 3 hour glucose test today and it was horrible. Only because I had a bad reaction to the stupid drink. About 30min after drinking it I began to notice my heartrate was really high and I became really nauseous. I sat for awhile monitoring it and noticed I became light-headed. I asked the staff if they had anything to check my heartrate with and they said no and let me go to the back and lay down in one of the empty rooms. They put an ice pack on my neck to see if that helped with my heart rate. I just knew I was going to the ER today. I called my nurse and told her what was going on and that ass had the nerve to tell me that nothing was wrong and I was just having an anxiety attack bc I had to sit there for so long. I told her that I did not mind doing the test and that wasnt it. She continued to go on and say that it had nothing to do with the medicine and got off the phone. I was soo pissed. She is soo lucky I didnt have the energy bc she would have got cursed out every which way from Sunday. I talked to one of the techs that was drawing my blood and she said that it is from the drink bc she is diabetic and thats what happens to her when her sugar is really high. She told me to make sure I tell the doc what happened bc most women wont and they need to know that stuff. I was soo greatful for the staff there bc they kept checking on me the entire time even though they were busy. They chair and room they let me stay is was very comfortable and quiet. Im sure anyone else may not even have this problem so please dont expect the same results if you have to take the test. I hope that I did not scare anyone with this. I hope you all are having a great day!!
