| 18-8-2009 - Caleb\'s first check up and how I'm feeling! :) | My mood while writing this blog:In love! |
Well my amazing little dude had his 1 week check up today and can you believe he gained 8 ounces in 4 days!! That puts him up to 6 lbs now, he was 5lbs 15oz at birth and was 5lbs 8oz when we left the hospital on Friday! It's no wonder since he eats like a champ!! I'm producing enough milk to feed a small 3rd world country!! He also grew a 1/2 inch so that puts him up to 18 1/2 inches! He is doing so well, I cannot believe what a calm and happy newborn he is. He eats anywhere between every 1 1/2 - 3 hours, but last night he slept almost 6 hours straight! The secret is he looooooooves to sleep in the cradle swing. The bassinet just isn't cutting it. It was the same way with my daughter, she slept in the swing for 3 months until we moved her to the crib. So he is following in her footsteps! I couldn't be happier.
On another note, I'm healing pretty well. I felt amazing the first few days after his birth but the past 2 days I have been pretty sore. My incision feels like it is on fire sometimes, and other times it feels like someone is stabbing my in the gut. My lower belly is really saggy, but it's still swollen too. I am wearing an abdominal binder a few hours off and on every day and let me tell you it really helps! It helps with the swelling and helps with the pressure on my incision. When I measured my belly the day I had him, it was 47 inches around! (OMG!) and today it is down to 39 inches :) :) :) Still big but I had weight to lose before I even got pregnant. I'm hoping that all the breast feeding I am doing helps me lose some!! My belly all around is pretty flat but it's also quite jiggly. I do feel so much better now physically that I am no longer prego, no more hip and back pain!! YAAAAAAAAY! And I'm sooo unbelievably in love with my little guy it's amazing, I never thought I could love another baby as much as I love my little girl but it's crazy, I instantly doubled my loving capability when he was born, and I even love my daughter even more now which I never thought could be possible.
Thanks for reading everyone, I hope all of you are doing well :) :)
