This is my first pregnancy and my husband and I are super excited. I've always had a paranoid suspicion that it'd be hard for me to get pregnant for some reason.. I used to watch all the Discover Health programs on Pregnancy, Infertility and Adoption- but lo and behold: We got pregnant on our second month of trying. I was completely shocked!
I started some really light bleeding on the 28th of May and thought it was my period starting but it stopped the same day.. So by June 4th with no further period, we decided to buy another test. I've never had spotting before so I thought it might be pregnancy but like I said, I was expecting it to be much harder to get pregnant! When I saw those 2 lovely lines, I about did the Snoopy dance in our little bathroom.
I'm nearing the end of Week 5 and I just can't believe how tired I am! I fell asleep as soon as I got into bed last night (and I normally struggle with Insomnia and sleeplessness) but I feel like I could do with another 10 hours! It probably didn't help that it seemed like I had to pee on the hour, every hour. I can't believe how PMSy I still feel; It feels like my period could start at any moment! Crazy.
I'll be setting up a doctor's appointment tomorrow, I would have done it sooner but it's a holiday weekend here in New Zealand (Queen's birthday) so I had to wait. Did you know it's free to have a baby in NZ? How crazy is that?! I'm a California native so I had no idea until my Mother-in-Law told me after I asked her for a Doctor recommendation. Totally jazzed.
I think I'll have that nap now!
