20-5-2012 - 15 month Alexander reading Hi / 23 weeks ProudMy mood while writing this blog:
Proud

He's had the Your Baby Can Read program since he was 5 months old, he's finally starting to read some of the words. "Hi" is definitely his favourite thing to say, he says Hi to us every morning-- and to everyone in the grocery store. It's hilarious. Here he is (first thing in the morning hence the Pjs, bedhead & night-night binky) picking the "Hi" flashcard out of a pile!!

Aside from that, I am a day shy of 23 weeks... Feeling MASSIVE (but that's okay, I love it!) I dunno about the rest of you preggers but man, getting around is starting to get hard. I was so excited to go to the store yesterday and when I got there, walking around was EXHAUSTING me!! I was sooooo tired, I just wanted to sit down every time we passed a bench. I had a craving for some gummy candies and the ones I got were horrible.. they were just wrong and too hard and chalky and tasted like stupid >:[ Yes, that is officially a flavour. I couldn't even eat them. I ate like 2 and gave the bag to my husband and when he ate them later, the smell was making me nauseous! Pregnancy is so weird!

I can't wait to start buying everything for Lily's nursery, even though we won't be setting it up for QUITE some time. My son is still using his crib so we're going to try to set a goal of moving him into his big boy bed at 2 years old so she'll be using the bassinet in our room for as long as humanly possible (and if she grows out of that too soon, the pack & play I guess!). Xander is such an amazing sleeper so I have faith that he'll take to it well. Her room will be painted and some-what decorated before then, though. My mom and my 2 nephews (the ones I raised until they were 5 & 7) are coming here from the States for the birth in September, they're now 8 and 10. The boys will be using Lily's room and my mom will be sleeping in the bed in Xander's room so I'm only going to somewhat set it up because, being rambunctious boys I'm sure they'll just terrorize all my girlie girl baby stuff. So~ I'll have to wait on gluing butterflies and flowers to the wall and just stick to the pale sage paint and most-likely brown curtains (room is going to be pink/brown, with pale sage walls and accents).

Xander got his 15 month immunisations this past week-- three whole shots! He took them like a champ, only shedding a few tears at the initial pokes and then cheering up! I don't think he gets any more shots until at least 4 but I'm considering having the 3 of us get the flu shot this year since I'll be having a baby right out of winter (Sept is technically the first month of spring but it's not going to warm up for a while) and Xander seems to catch every little bug at his swimming lessons. He's just fought off Bronchitis (with the help of Amoxicillin and Prednisone and now an Asthma inhaler just in case) but my nose has been running for the past day and a half so I think I might be coming down with a brand new cold/flu bug to introduce into the group! SIGH! This is the problem, we all keep bringing SOMETHING home and infecting each other! I'm also considering getting Lily the Rotavirus vaccine since Xander got Rotavirus/Gastroenteritis @ 9 months (I'm sure he picked it up at his swimming lessons because we're both meticulous about hand washing) and had to be hospitalised for 3 days! Dunno.. gonna research them both and weigh the pros and cons and see if it's for us. Better safe than sorry
!
