My mood while writing this blog: Ok |
Well, as everyone knows, I lost the baby at 14 weeks. I do have another Dr's appt this Wednesday, but I've gotten phone calls that all my labs and the chromosomal testing have all come back normal. Looks like I lost baby Travis due to a weak cervix. Not all is lost, but now that I have this in my history, the Dr take take the necessary precautions to make sure this doesn't happen again. Most likely what is going to happen next time is that he will do a cerclage (stitch the cervix shut) to make sure the baby stays up there.
As for seeing the Dr...I did see a military Dr and she kind of brushed this whole thing off as if I should have nothing to worry about. It really upset the both of us...Trav was not happy when we left the Dr's office. So I've been going to see a civilian Dr, Tricare has been approving my visits with him. At this point, if I had tried to explain to a military Dr that it has been led to believe by an OB/GYN Dr that I miscarried due to a weak cervix, they'll probably tell me that's not what it is and send me on my way, then I lose another one when it COULD have been prevented. So I think I trust this civ Dr...after all, he did take care of me in the ER after I lost baby Travis and he's been doing some heavy researching on why it happened. Another thing that gets me about the mil Dr...she called this a late 1st trimester miscarriage! Ummmm...what planet did she come from?? Last time I checked, 14 weeks is 2nd trimester! So who should I trust? I think the civ Dr gets my vote on this one!
If there are any changes after my visit on Wednesday, I'll be sure to post it here.
