| 27-4-2008 - 36 weeks! | My mood while writing this blog:Ok |
Well, here I am starting week 36 tomorrow! I still have a ton of things to do and not enough energy to do them all. The place was getting to be such a mess cause I kept thinking - tomorrow I will have more energy....only that never happened. So Hubby swung into action today cleaning the place from top to bottom! The only thing we did not get done was putting away all of Baby Girl's clothes and packing the Hospital Bags. Every time I think about the fact that we have not yet packed for the hospital, or installed the car seat, I get a bit paniky but not enough to actually get around to doing it. But seems like time is running out!
Luckily this week will be the last week that I have to go into the office - Wooo-HOOOO! Starting May 5th I will be working from home full-time which lets me put my swollen feet up and focus on research rather than having to run around site all day responding to problems and inspecting the work completed by contractors! I am sure I will miss the company of the girls at work, but I am really looking forward to spending the day working from my couch. And hopefully it will give me enough energy to finally get those hospital bags packed!
This week also marks the start of my weekly appointments with my doctor. The office has a u/s machine so it is so nice to see Baby Girl every time we go in. Even though I feel her move every day (thank God) it is still so reassuring to see her squirming around and to hear her steady heartbeat. I just can't wait till I have her in my arms and can LOOK at her and see that she is breathing and fine. So for me, I wish I could see the Dr everyday just to have the reassurance that Baby Girl is doing just fine.
This past week Hubby and I attended the infant care skills class and the childbirth class offered by the hospital. Lots of great information although I have to admit Hubby and I got a bit giggly during the breathing exercises. He wasn't following the directions properly and I kept having to correct him - then he start up doing his own thing again. I guess we were just being goofy. It was a lot of information though and I definatley feel better about what may and may not happen when I go into labor.
After learning that I may be developing preeclampsia at my last Dr appointment this past Thursday I have been monitoring my BP at home. Luckily it seems to be back to normal levels, so I am not sure what made it shoot up at the Dr appointment. I have never had it so high. My hands, feet and ankles are still disgustingly swollen and it is far too hot here for me to wear trousers, so I have them on display in shorts and flipflops for all the world to see. Oh well, what can you do. :-)
