My mood while writing this blog: Well Enough

In the past couple of weeks quite a bit has happened when compared to the level of activity of the past few months. For starters, David (as close to a 'Dear Husband' as I've got) finally got in touch with me. While his life in Salem hasn't simplified much, he's done more than his share of enhancing my life by taking the time to take the bus to come see me this past Friday. He stayed from about 8 a.m. on Friday morning to about 2 p.m. on Saturday. Devon kicked, rolled, punched and elbowed for his daddy several times while Dave was here. I'd been afraid that once I finally saw Dave again, Devon wouldn't be having an active day. But my increased heart rate and rushing adrenaline must have activated the little gymnast.

There's also been a bit of hard news. my step-sister Amy Marie Young died of Mesathelioma on Tuesday morning at a little after 7 a.m. My family had made the drive up to Coos Bay (about 4 hours) to visit with her on Monday and did managed to fit in two short visits on Monday evening. However Amy passed away Tuesday before we could make it in to see her again. Yesterday I attended a Celebration of Life for Amy at her college, Pacific University and there will be another similar celebration in Coos Bay this coming weekend. Her brothers have come up with A.I.M.I. - Amy Is My Inspiration, which they plan to put on patches to be worn to her party in Coos Bay. The theme is tye-die because that was a favored part of her wardrobe. Amy was a lively, outgoing, and positive person. Dedicated and empathetic to others. Her family, friends and even mere aquaintances will miss her very much.
