12-2-2009 - Baby Shower

My mood while writing this blog: Happy

On Saturday, Feb. 7, I attended my first baby shower...and was at first a little anxious as I've got an anxietyt disorder and being the center of attention can be a bit vexing for me. But it didn't take me long to get into the games and everything. My mom is a secretary at her church and the hostess attends the same one, so we had a few people I hadn't even met show up from the church. One of them even made baby Devon a blanket. Davids (baby's daddy) mom showed up as well as most everyone who was invited. His sister couldn't make it because she was out of state at the time.

After the baby shower I was talking to David's mom about the nursery; or lack thereof. For months now, the plan has been to switch the furniture in my bedroom with the dowstairs den/family room so that I can have enough room for my furniture and the baby's, also it will provide a little bit more space between my room and the rest of the family's so Devon doesn't keep everyone up all night. I was tellling Joann about this, and mentioned how every time David's available to help move the furniture, no one else is there to help him. Once we ran it past my parents, she hopped on her phone and had two men at our house in a matter of minutes. They got the heaviest of the furniture moved but there's still plenty of work to be done. But I feel much better having finally made a start
