| 11-4-2009 - What Next? | My mood while writing this blog:Okay |
Once again, David and I are together. This bouncing back and forth does not work for me, so fortunately I have the feeling this time it's going to last. The past couple of times I had an inkling that things weren't quite right. Now he says he loves me, instead of that he loves me but it just isn't the same as it was... I feel like we have some basis for a healthy and stable relationship. :)
On Monday I'm goin to be taking a placement test for college. In the fall I plan to be taking courses to become a medical transcriptionist since it's a two year education and will enable me to afford my son and self without having to sponge off my mom and step-dad anymore. Also, I will probably have the option of working from home so I can be both a bread-winner and an available mother to my son.
The question is, what do I do when/if my boyfriend does get the bigger place he's hoping for? If I move in with him, will I no longer be a single mother and qualify for the financial aid I'm hoping to get? Perhaps I'll be able to get work-study but I don't know if that would be enough to cover school and insurance for my son. I wouldn't mind having to go without doctor's visits for myself, but Devon's health isn't something I'm willing to take any chances with. I'd love to live with David, he's a great parent and working with him to care for Devon has actually been a very pleasant experience; not as stressful or difficult as I'd expected (though still not simple) but if it comes to choosing between having a full time dad available to Devon, and continuing my school...I just don't know what I'll do.
What will probably happen, is once David gets his place I'll go see the college counselor and see what my options are...
