24-7-2010 - 30 weeks

My mood while writing this blog: Ok

Today is 30 weeks for me. I can't believe I'm 3/4ths of the way through this pregnancy! I can't wait for my little one to get here.

Let's see...as for a pregnancy update things are going well. At my 28 week appointment the doctor said I measured at few weeks ahead but that it was probably the way I was carrying. He is also still concerned about my glucose levels and wants me to have the 3 hr glucose test done again. I passed the first one, but my sugar levels were really close to the cut off for me to pass. He wants me to retest at 32 weeks to see if my body can keep up with the insulin demand. I plan to ask the doctor at my next appointment if he thinks its necessary for me to retake the 3 hr test since he is an older, more experienced doctor. The first go around was miserable and I nearly fainted twice...everything went white but thank goodness DH was with me. Other than that things look good. We had a 3d/4d ultrasound done and baby is head down and looks good. He is measuring about a week ahead and the tech said that puts him in the 65th percentile which sounds normal to me. She just said he would be bigger than me DH were...we were both 6lb 13oz. Apparently, an 8lb baby is average today.

I had my first shower last weekend and it went amazing. We had at least 50 people show up and we got tons of amazing gifts and cute clothes! Since then I've been in a shopping mood and want to buy everything I see for my little man, but I'm trying to control it. We have another "shower" August 28th but its more of a cookout for me and DH and all of our friends...more laid back so we can both enjoy it. The nursery is almost done. We need closet doors, window treatments, and I would like to find a small bookshelf as we need more storage for all of his things! So, things are going well and I hope these next 70 days speed by!

Sounds like things are going well! I am VERY sorry that you have to take the 3 hr test again. That was MISERABLE! I told my DH if they tried to get me to retake it I would say NO and tell them just to treat me as though I had it. Just so I didn't have to do it again! :0P
