Ok

I need some advice on how to get Gavan to nurse longer! He will only drink for 5 min then falls asleep. and wakes up screaming in half an hour to feed again! I can't get any sleep!

sounds like cluster nursing mine does that in the evening its totally normal but time consuming:) a baby knows better then us when it is full so it may just be the reason,,,or maybe even a upcomming growth spurt....

Dress him down to a diaper. Your skin contact with make him wanna eat longer and will keep him awake and also will keep you two connected! :)

I have also heard taking the clothes off sometimes helps wake them up.

Have you tried nursing him while you lie down with him? That was how I got my rest with my daughter. We still lie down together during nap time occassionally 14 months later so she can nurse and mom sleeps. When he falls asleep, try to stimulate him - tickle his feet, stroke his cheek, tickle his ear - anything to wake him. He just finds mommy too comfy!!! Sounds like my daughter - she eventually stopped sleeping long enough to eat but it is frustrating I know! xox
