| 17-7-2008 - LOGANSMOMMA HAD BABY!!! update from sister-in-law!! | My mood while writing this blog:Ok |
Below is copy and pasted...email recieved from Ashley's sister-in-law...about birth of new baby boy!!!
Thursday about 3, I think, she started having really bad contractions about every ten minutes but between the contractions she would have very very bad pains every few minutes, they headed to the hospital with her and when she got there the contractions were 5 to 6 min apart and she was still having the pain, they checked her and she was not a 1 yet and she had a temperature 0f almost 102, was dehydrated, and the babies heart rate was up to 180, they checked her again in about an hour and still no change, she they gave her stadal to try and ease the pain and stop the contractions, if they were not real labor, they continued to administer stadal and morphin through the night, in the morning when the Dr. arrived they were very upset becaus they had not told the to administer pain meds all night it is my understanding if the first dose did not stop them the nurses were supposed to call the Dr. as soon as he checked her he said that she had a stomach infection of some kind they were not sure, the gave her penisilin broke her water, gave her and epidural and hooked her up on pictocin, I am not sure of what order those things happened, They checked her several times and at first she progressed slowly, at a few minutes after three she was what they called a good 5, about 30 minutes later a 9 and them very quickly a 10, once they let her push it only took I think 3 or 4 contraction and the time it took the Dr. to get dressed to deliver to baby, the cord was wrapped aroud his neck 2 times , but they fixed that no problem, He weighted 7' 10" and was 21 in long with a whole head of dark hair and looking just like his big brother, he was running a temperature of 102, they let him stay for a little whil with Ashley then took him to the nursery and told us they were gonna run some test because of the temp and Ashley's infection, They ran test for what seemed like forever, the Dr. came in and told them that the babies heart rate had gotten up to 280, and the cardiologist looked at the test and felt it was a condition where there is an extra passage way in the heart and when the blood goes into it it gets stuck and starts beating like crazy, or that there is a possiblity that it is from the temperature, They gave him meds to bring the HR down, and moved him to the NICU, He has been stabile up til now, Thank God, but they told them if it happened again they would ship him to Johnson City which has a very advanced NICU, if he stayed stabile they might release him this weekend and they will have to take him to a pediatric caridioligist within a few days
