19-9-2008 - 12 Week Update

Hola! So I had my 12 week appointment today and I was kind of nervous going into this one because of what happened over last weekend with the pain and also, this was the day that we would go over all my blood tests and I would get weighed again and ... yeah, just wasn't looking forward to that. BUT... Everything went very well. We first went into the office and she went over my tests and said all the blood work came back looking great. I was nervous of this because I use to be a major party girl in college. I did find out that however that could carry a passed down 2 different cancer genes that are both from my grandparents but I'm not going to worry too much about that. Next test will be to determine whether or not I am a carrier of Cystic Fibrosis (I'm sure I spelled that incorrect). Anyway, so enough about all that boring stuff. We next went into the obgyn's room and we made sure the heartbeat was doing alright. Which it was. So I was very happy about that. We didn't get to see the baby but that is okay. As long as I can here the little one, I'm all ducky! She did say that I had gained a little more weight then I was suppose to but she also said that she gained 12 lbs before her 12th week and she was running 3 miles a week (she is super fit) so she told me not to worry. The average woman gains around 40 lbs so I should stress to much about it but just keep watching what I eat and be smart about it. I took her advice and ate a salad with grilled chicken tonight... it was wonderful! My next appointment is on October 17th and then I will have another one 2 weeks later to determine the sex. So it looks like on halloween, i should know the sex of my little one! I can't wait! So excited! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. Especially, Minkymoo, who is celebrating her husband's birthday tonight and plans to party like a rock star! Wish we were all there with you! Of course, not for the bding later though! hehehe...
