06-2-2009 - 32 Week Dr\'s Apptment

Hey Ladies!!!

I pray everyone is doing well!!! Another 2 weeks have passed and all seems to be just fine on this end. Laya is measuring right on target now which is fantastic. But I did gain 4 lbs in the last 2 weeks and my blood pressure was borderline at 140/80 which the doctor wanted me to keep an eye on. She had Preeclampsia and knows first han what the warning signs are so she just wants me to keep that in the back of my mind if I notice any major swelling or if my blood pressure gets higher. Just before my appointment yesterday, I found out that I could be a key witness in a case, in which I would have to testify, and that really made me very nervous. Not to mention the added stress of what usually comes with working in a law office. My boss is going out of town so if anything happens while he is away and the courts call looking for him, my ass is grass! I also found out that my mom has breast cancer. She's had biopsies and an MRI. We are very optimistic since it was found so early and is so small but she is very depressed which worries me. So, there is just a lot on my plate. It really is no wonder I have high blood pressure. I'm surprised is isn't higher. My iron looked good, I wasn't dehydrated like I have been at the prior appointments, there was no protein in my urine (which is also a sign of preeclampsia) which was a relief, and the baby's heartbeat was at a strong 144. So all in all, fairly good appointment. The Dr. made sure I have her cell number and I also set up dates for classes to take this month such as newborn care, lamaz/tour of hospital, and breastfeeding. All of which I'm looking forward to. I also have my baby shower tomorrow that my mom and sister-in-law are throwing for me which will be nice. My in-laws are coming in from out of town and when I get home tonight, I'm going to have to bust it to get the house clean. Yesterday, neither myself or my husband had the energy to get it done. Not to mention, Domino Dog was very sick in the middle of the night and gave me a nice warm wet surprise to step into this morning while walking barefoot through the kitchen to let him out. Not cool. lol. Poor dog. Anyway, so sorry this is a book. Just a lot going on.
