22-2-2009 - 34 week Dr\'s Apptment

Okay, So here's the latest news, my friends. Went in for my 34 week appointment on Friday and my doctor said that my blood pressure is still borderline at 13?/90. I also had lots of swelling, bad acid reflux (TMI alert - I threw up on myself driving home the other day very suddenly and randomly from acid reflux), I had gained 6 lbs in 2 weeks AND she was a little concerned about the fact that I've been having sharp pains in my upper right abdomen. So, she had me go to the lab to get blood tests run for pre eclemsia (sp?) and if those come out okay, then she is going to have an ultrasound done to check other things like I think my gall bladder. So I've been told to call her on Monday the 23rd to find out the results. She also wants to go to weekly appointments instead of biweekly. So my next appointment is this Friday, the 27th.

Also, today, I've been getting some very sharp, pinching like pains around my pelvis area along with some serious pressure. The pressure developed yesterday mid day but today is when the pain started. I looked it up and I really think its the baby's head on my cervix. I told Scott (my hubby) yesterday that I really thought that perhaps the baby had dropped but... now, more then ever... I think she really has and that I might SLOWLY be starting to dialate. I'm definitely not going to see if my doctor can check it though since I've heard constantly that it is painful for the doctor to check if you've dialated and really, I don't want them to check until I know its go time. Last thing I need is to know I'm 1 cm dialated and have that in the back of my mind for a couple of weeks. So, that's the news on that. :) Seriously, just like everyone else... I'm hanging in. I would love for peanut to come early but I really need the money from working. I don't get paid while on maternity leave. Sad times. It will be tight here. So how is everyone else doing? All hanging in too? I'm thinking of everyone out there. I pray we are all going doing well. Keep me posted! Love, Janna banana

I hear you on the financial part of this little "vacation" we are taking. Getting checked for dilation really doesn't hurt that much unless you are in full blown labor, then everthing hurts. Getting your membranes stripped is what hurts. Well, good luck with the blood pressure. It sounds like you are doing great! So am I...hooray!

HUN SO SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT YOUR BP ETC.ILL DEFO BE PRAYING FOR U.AND YES IT SOUNDS LIKE UR DIALATING.PLEASE BE CAREFULL FOR THE ACID REFLUX,I HAVE IT CRHONIC AND IT BURNS U SO BAD,I HAD BAD ULCERS AND I WAS IN EXCRUCIATING PAIN.MAYBE ASK UR DOC TO GIVE U A ANTI REFLUX PILL,THERE ARE ONES U CAN TAKE DURING PREGNANCY.OR EAT RENNIES.HOPE ALL TURNS OUT WELL:-)

Wow. The last half of your blog sounds just like me...the sharp stabbing pelvic pain is the worst! sometimes it actually feels like she is trying to punch her way or dig her way out of my cervix! And I have the same issue with work. I want her to come early or at least I want to get off work a few weeks early, but I only get paid for 4 1/2 weeks of my total leave. With the economy the way it is, that is going to be very hard because Chris is taking a week off when she is born (unpaid) and he is not allowed to work overtime to compensate. And last night we were just talking about wanting to move out of California...the cost of living is so high here! Anyway, I feel your pain (literally and figuratively :-) and know exactly what you mean about being ready for this to be over!) And TMI alert... I figured out the very hard way that I shouldn't have sex anymore until it is time for her to be born because it causes excruciating pain and contractions, and bleeding. (But I was secretly hoping it would put me in labor!) Anyway, hang in there...Take some Zantac for your acid reflux. It should help (it didn't help me, and I am on a prescription, and even that isn't working as well right now, but I have Gastroesophogal Reflux Disease anyway, so that is why Zantac didn't work!). Well, keep us updated..

Same as you hun I really want baby to come i have had enough now i am getting really emotional and it driving me mad i have a scan at 38 weeks as the midwive thinks baby is big for my weeks dont know why they bothering tho they wont induce me even if she is big they dont like doing it here till you go 10 days over xxx
