10-3-2009 - 37 Week Check Up/Borrowed Time...

My mood while writing this blog: worried...

Hey ladies,

So I got some interesting news today. I went in for my 37 week check up early this week because of the scare we had last friday at the 36 week appointment. Doctor didn't want me waiting until the next Friday so she wanted me to come in today. I'm now officially on bedrest for the rest of my pregnancy. I'm also now going into appointments twice a week. Why? Well, my weight hadn't changed for the 3rd week which is good BUT... my blood pressure is still high with the upper number in the 150's and the lower number in the 90's. I also had a little protein in my urine this trip. My swelling is still bad but not horrible and my reflux is being monitored. The doctor said that she is really having mixed feelings on what to do with me but for my next appointment, she wants me to start bringing my suitcase because if ANYTHING is worse then it was today, then I'm being induced that day. And she said that if I do get induced, then to be prepared to be in labor for 20+ hours because my cervix is still closed tight and it will take a while. Also, they decided to check fluids and the baby's estimated weight. My fluids are very good and the baby is estimated to weight 6 lbs and 13 oz. She was also practicing breathing and she has moved a little down into position. So, right now, I'm on standby until Thursday. My only major worry is that my mother will be in Europe (she is a flight attendant) Thursday through Saturday. I really dont want to have my first born without her here. So, I'm praying everything goes okay and that my protein levels and blood pressure remain decent at least for another week. Please keep us in your prayers and I'll be doing the same for each of you.
