| 28-10-2009 - 7 months and counting! | My mood while writing this blog:Tired but happy! |
Hey there, my friends!
Its been so long since I've written a blog, I don't know where to begin! Just so much has changed since my little Laya Bug was born. Its hard to believe that, that was only 7 months ago!!! Wow does time fly when you have a baby!
Anyway, things are going very well. She is such sunshine to my husband and I's lives. She smiles CONSTANTLY and has the best giggle and personality in the world to me. She is now sleeping through the nights, eatting 3 meals a day along with her regular bottle feedings, and she is working very diligently on crawling. Actually, she gets up on her feet with her butt in the air and hands down on the ground so it won't surprise me too much if she skips the whole crawling bit and goes straight to pulling herself up on things and trying to stand and walk. She is great at sitting and I'll often go into her room in the morning and she'll be sitting up, playing in her crib while waiting for me.
She has been a little difficult in changing but that's only because she has now discovered that she can roll away from me. So its quite a battle to get a diaper on or a pair of pants, but Mommy wins eventually! She also isn't into eatting much beef flavored baby foods. She loves chicken and ham but beef, not so much. Definitely good with veggies though! Its all a new experience. She loves her sippy cup but mostly to chew on the rubbery top. Otherwise, she'll see mommy and daddy drink out of a regular cup and want to drink out of it. Believe it or not, she does much better with this then she does with the sippy cup!
Last we had her measured, she was 6 months and weighing 16.1 lbs and was 27.25 inches tall. She was growing in red hair for several months but now it looks like she's going to be a strawberry blonde. She hasn't gotten any teeth in yet which is normal and aside for a short cold she had when she was 3 weeks old, she hasn't been sick (knock on wood) but I think that's just because I keep her at work with me so she's hardly around other children.
Being a parent has been the hardest thing I've ever done in my life. Although, its certainly been the most rewarding too. I love my lil bug more then anything else in this world. And I'm so proud of her!!! I am just exhausted all the time though, and because I keep her at work with me, I feel like I'm often doing 3 jobs at once (taking care of her needs, taking care of the clients needs, and doing it all with an effortless impression so my boss doesn't think I can't handle both things at once). I get home and want to immediately crash but with my husband working, too, and him getting home exhausted, I end up letting him relax while I get dinner going, feed the baby, and clean up. Its mind numbing!!! But, we also have our house on the market right now and that can be pretty stressful when you're required to keep it clean all the time and you have a little baby. So, its just an adjustment these days. But, we are all just trucking along and excited about Halloween which is a couple of days from now. Laya is going to be a Lady Bug. We call her Laya Bug so its kind of become her "thing."
I really hope you all are doing well out there. I know how hard it is to get on here and write when you've got a lil' one demanding your attention all the time so for those of you who write regularly, my hats off to you! I'm a huge fan! And hope to get on her more often, as well. I was blessed to have you as friends during my pregnancy and I'll feel equally bless to have you as friends now that I've had my sweet pea. We aren't planning on having another one anytime soon just because I don't know if I'll have a job in the near future with the economy being what it is and we need both incomes if we want to move into a good school zone and child friendly subdivision for Laya. But who knows in say... 2 or 3 years. :)
Hugs and baby kisses to you and your lil' ones!
Love, Janna
