Nothing really known at this point from our appointment yesterday. Doctor did an US of my uterus and ovaries and found that one side of my uterus is thicker than the other, called adenomyosis, which she said can cause infertility because my uterus isn't able to contract in order to get the sperm where they need to be. I also may have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, because she saw 8-12 follicles in each ovary, which is too many she said. So, that could be another cause of infertility. She said neither of these conditions can be diagnosed with US, so she was just speculating.
So, the plan is to have Josh do his semen analysis (as soon as possible, preferably) and she's also going to have a progesterone level drawn on me next week. She wants to draw that to see if I am skipping ovulation or just not ovulating at all. She also said my short luteal phase is a problem, but said that is easily correctable.
The idea of artificial insemination was already being thrown around the table today. If our semen analysis comes back normal, and the progesterone level is normal, then I'm going for the HSG (hysterosalpingogram) where they inject dye into my uterus and fallopian tubes to make sure it's all clear and accessible for the sperm.
If all of that is normal, we're going to try some fertility drugs. If by a couple or three cycles that look favorable for pregnancy to occur and a pregnancy is not achieved, THEN artificial insemination will become more of a reality.
So, nothing set in stone at this point.

Sounds like you got a lot of information, so that is a good thing. I am confused about one thing though. You have HORRIBLE cramps during your period, which are just contractions as you know... so to me it sounds like that is not a problem. Don't you generally skip or have sporadic periods with PCOS? Hopefully that isn't the problem either. Sounds like things are going to come along though. *fingers crossed* that the initial testing goes quicky and all clear! Then get the drugs and let the eggs fly!!!
