I posted this in the birth control thread but didn't get a response, I wonder if maybe you guys can shead some light: My son is now 3 months 8 days old, I breastfeed for the first month. I still have not had AF, my doc told me to start taking my pills after I got my first AF back...well I still haven't gotten her back. I have taken 2 pregnancy tests, one a month ago and another yesterday, I am not prego...but why isn't AF back. I should I just start taking my pills and maybe that will help jump start things???? I am so confused!!! If anyone has any ideas that would be great, I honestly don't feel like going to the doc's, but after 3 months of no AF, I think I am starting to get worried.

I am taking my pills in hopes that it jump starts my period. They told me I couldn't get the IUD until I was on it and gave me pills until then. I say go for it.

I only had my period after having started on the pill after my son was born. They normally say "start after you have had your period" so that you can be sure that you are not pregnant...Good luck! Cami.

I didn't get my period and had my daughter in May. I took a August and it was negative. I just found out last night that I'm pregnant but my point is sometimes it takes awhile for AF to come.

You could start the pills but for sure don't rely on them until your cycle starts back regular and you have been on the pills for a month after that!! Maybe give your doc a call and see what he says. It may just be a hormonal thing?? I'm not really sure why but as I'm sure you know...sometimes having a baby messes all that AF stuff up for a little while?!
