18-5-2009 - 31 weeks and an answer! Actually excited...My mood while writing this blog:
Actually excited...

I know this is weird, but I just found out that I have varicose veins in my, ahem, crotch... and I'm excited about it! I've been "struggling" with pain and pressure in my vulva region since 20 weeks. I went to L&D because I was terrified my cervix was dialating. They sent me home and said I was just "stretched out" since it's my third baby in 5 years. It has come and gone since then, and lately it's been getting stronger, and extremely painful.

Now that I know it's varicose veins, I feel so relieved. (And, it makes so much sense! I can't believe I didn't think of it!) I don't need to worry the baby is already in the birth canal, or in the wrong position, or that my placenta is too low. Whew!

Plus - duh - I developed varicose veins in my legs this pregnancy (didn't with the other two). When I read about it on Google, it said if one has varicose veins in their vulva, they definitely will have them on their legs. I fit all the criteria to a "T".

So, that's my big happening for 31 weeks... so far (I'm only 31+2). Who knew varicose veins could make a woman so darn happy!

I have the same exact feeling and varicose veins in the same spot-:) I am glad it's not the babies pushing their ways out either!
Good luck to you!

Glad that you found your answer and it was as simple as a vericose vein. It's amazing what us mom's get excited over. That sounds like a painful situation you're in though. I guess try to rest and relax asmuch as possible although, all of us preggers need rest and relaxation. If only it were possible when you've got kids at home!!!! Good luck.
