| 07-6-2009 - I\'m a big baby | My mood while writing this blog:Embarrassed |
I started bawling like a baby, and my five-year-old was trying to console me (very cute!). I called L&D, and every question they asked, I was like, "Well, I think so. I don't know." Finally, she told me to come in (which they always do). Then, I got really stubborn and didn't want to go in. I wasn't crying because I was in pain anymore, I was crying because I was embarrassed that they were going to say, "This is your third baby; you know how this goes. You're being a big baby!"
We get in there, and I'm hooked up to the monitors. I did ask for a urine test because my side hurt so bad I was afraid of a UTI (never had one, just read about them).
HAD ZERO CONTRACTIONS the whole 2 hours I was there. The nurse was extremely supportive. She kept saying it's better to come in than to be in preterm labor without help. Yeah, yeah, yeah - I'd say that to someone else, but this is ME! lol Aren't we so damn hard on ourselves.
I asked her if the pain was from the position of the baby, and she just said (whether it was just to make me feel better or not), that my baby was incredibly active and strong, and he was basically beating the shit out of my insides. She said, "Look at these accelerations (on the tape). These are incredible." I didn't have a clue what she was talking about, but it made me feel better.
I know other women go through the same thing, but I keep thinking that I should know. Guess it doesn't matter how many kids you have - there are still mysteries in pregnancy! :)
