28-8-2009 - ARRGHH

My mood while writing this blog: Angry

So I just had a lovely suprise visit from mother inlaw and Caleb's older sister. At first I thought it was real nice they decided to drop by seeing as Caleb's sister, O'Ressa(yes thats her name) is from out of town. The conversation went to baby, of course, and his mom was informing me of the plans to take baby on his/her first horse back ride at 6 weeks, the same age as Caleb and other kids were on horses and Grandma would teach baby how to ride and grandma would be riding with baby and I was not the experienced rider. At 6 weeks of age, it will be DECEMBER, we live in northern Canada. it will be anywhere from -16 C to -35 C in december, not happening. And dad and I were taking baby for teh first ride as riding was always a big part of our lives, when baby can hold up his/her own head and grasp teh reigns by themselves. My newborn will never be on the back of a horse. Its a risk I am not willing to take, in teh winter especially. It turned into a bit of an argument and all she said was well we'll see wont we? All i could think of was yes, yes we will, keep it up and you won;t have teh privellage of over night stays or unsupervised visits if I don't trust you. So after that we started talking names and such, and his mom was so sweet enough to make a list of names I am not allowed to name my own baby. She cant spell worth crap either and so reading it was a challenge in itself. The list was so stupid, all names of people on calebs dads side of teh family, Richard, Levi, Justin, Shirley, Eli, Henry etc. I told her that if it was aboy we had already decided on Levi Henry Alan and that was final and for a girl we were stuck between Payten, Mylee, Kaedence or Kelcey. His SISTER told me that payten and Kaedence were not proper names and no one in her family is to be named those names and to spell the names properly if i was going to choose Kelcey or Mylee ( kelsey and Miley) I was soooo mad. I wanted to knock her block of seeing as she is 28 years old and lives with her dad and her name is O'Ressa, yea like thats a "normal" name. And there is no such thing as a normal name. I told them both to leave and that they had absolutly no right to tell me what I am to name my child and tell me how to spell it and if they wanted to pick out names and control how they are spelt to have ressa move out of daddys house and have children of her own. I am so mad and hurt and upset I dont even know what to do. Of course Caleb is at work and he cant deal with his mother now. ARRGGGH why do people insist on being idiots??!?!?!

Seriously who do they tink they are? Its yours + your partners baby, so only ye should have a say. Dont let them get you down. Hope your ok.
