My mood while writing this blog: overwelmed and content at the same time

Hello everyone. I was just letting everyone know that we are back home from the hospital. Thank you so much for keeping us in your thoughts and prayers. She has a lot more studies and testing to be done and now is on a feeding tube for at least the next 6 months. I am just glad that she has such a great doctor. To see your daughter or your lo suffering and can tell they just need your love but feel you cant give it all,for instance now i cant bf her and i know she is hungry but nothing i can do, that you feel that you canThey gave her an NJ. She asperates on any liqiud and did just a little on baby food when they did her swallow study. She has reflux as well so thats why they did the nj. I can not give her anything to satisify her and her hunger. They only thing that they have allowed me to do is give her a pacifier. Her peditrician advised us to possibly buy the vamilla scented pacis to see if those will work so we ordered some of those for her yesterday and hopefully will get here soon. They are going to do a study next week and run a scope down her throat and something else to see if its possibly a cleft and if so then they can fix that. Just saying its not mattured enough.She is on 30ml an hour on a continous feed but it doesnt go to her stomach and she LOVED to eat. Since tuesday she has already lost 10 ounces.. I will keep posted with more updates as they come. Thanks everyone again.

well - she's a very lucky girl that her mom knew something was up and made sure she got sorted out. Please hold onto the fact your beautiful girl won't remember any of this (I saw a programme that talked all about baby illness and the fact that in years to come the child couldn't remember any of the pain). Keep strong. you are being so brave.

i got teary-eyed after reading this. Babies are so helpless and as a parent it breaks our heart to see the suffer if only we cantrade places and take away their pain. You and your beautiful Graycie will be in my prayers. Be strong and never lose hope.

I'm so sorry :( I couldn't imagine having to go through that! Joel is such an eater too and just loves his boob! *hugs* Just give her lots of kisses! Will be praying for you two <3

my heart and thoughts go out for you and your LO. I know its hard to see them with a feeding tube (been through it just a couple weeks ago) let alone to be leaving the hospital with it and knowing its going be there for so long. Did they give her a NJ ( just past the stomach) or a NG (into the stomach)? If its past her stomach what are they doing for when shes hungry due to the NJ does not make the feel full. Do they have an "idea" what may be wrong? How is she dealing with it all, i hope okay?
