30-3-2009 - Update

My mood while writing this blog: fed up

I have had a busy 4 days .Friday i was back for a growth scan ,head was fine ,fluid good ,abdominal measurement of baby small again . Had to wait around to see consultant ,he said that baby was doing ok ,he is going off on 2 week holiday and has left clear instructions that if anything else happens as well as tummy measurement just to deliver. I am glad i spoke to him ,he said to keep an eye on movements of baby.

Saturday i was in agony i had real contraction type pains ,in back and pelvis and some real tightenings .I spent most of the time in bath ,i keep loosing mucus type stuff .

Sunday i felt sore but not as bad as saturday. Orlaith was not moving very much so i started to panic a bit .

Today i woke up and did my bits ,then thought i hadnt felt the baby so sat down and did everything they had told me to get her going eg ice water,lying on my side etc but nothing made her move. I was by now going mental ,crying ,called my mother ,she came over ,we called the hospital they said come in and they would put me on the monitor .I saw her heartbeat ,but no movements ,i was given ice cold water and told to lay on my side and just when i had given up hope of her moving off she went and then she got the hick ups . I was smiling from one side of the room to the other.

The midwife gave me the direct number and told me just to call if i was concerned again. I asked her to check where her head was and she did ,she said she was fully engaged ,which would explain the pain i was in .

I am back on thursday to have a scan to check fluid levels and then next thursday i have a growth scan .

I am glad they are keeping an eye on her ,as its so worrying when you dont know whta is happening .
