| 27-8-2009 - Midwife appointment, 17 weeks |  My mood while writing this blog:HAPPY!!!!! |
Hey everyone!
SO i had a slight hysterical fit when the midwife thought she would be late. Matt had to be at work for 2 and she said she would get here for 2 so i burst into tears thinking i would be on my own and that Matt would miss listening to the babys heartbeat!
What an idiot i felt when she turned up at 1 having moved another appointment to get here before 2 and i was still crying and having my tantrum, had to compose myself pretty quick and she could tell id been crying too!
Anyway did the urine sample which was fine and blood pressure which was 120/60 which she said was good. Then came the best bit - the heartbeat, yay! I was really looking forward to that bit, She said my belly was perfect size for 17 weeks and in perfect position. She tried low down for babys heartbeat as she said this is where they usually like to be, but my little tinker was hiding high up and took ages to find, but was so cute when finally found it, i couldnt be happier! The midwife said the baby was probably lying head facing upwards which is fine at this stage. I'm so happy!
Have decided to try breastfeeding for the first 6 months if i can, and next appointment is in 3 weeks to have my 20 week scan! Woo Hoo!

yey..it's great to hear the heart..I love it..and sounds like your doing perfectly..I breastfed Jakes for 18 months..it is hard at first but you got to stick with it..in the end it is so rewarding..and alot cheaper and easier..lol..take care hun...oh.. haven't been leaking today so fingers crossed that whatever it was has fixed itself..☺..Xxx

Awwww hun that is fantastic!!! i'll bet you were soo chuffed to hear lil ones heartbeat! How precious!!Awww i don't blame you getting soo upset about Matt almost missing out, or the thought that he might, because he should be there and he was for you both to enjoy that beautiful moment!! lovely to hear from you hope your well speak soon love steph xxx

my mother had four kids and she said if a midwife was possible thats the way we need to go....but there arent many midwifes in alabama lol!! congratulations on the good news i love going to the doctor and hearing how good my baby is doing even if i have to wait 2 hours in the waiting room!! my sister has a 10 month old that is still breast feeding good thing she has only had 2 periods since she had him!! and she works full time!! i only breast fed 3 months with my first but plan on doing it for 6 this time around....it is time consuming but its worth it!!!
