| 19-11-2009 - Swine flu vaccination | My mood while writing this blog:yucky |
Hey lovely ladies,
I'm sorry i haven't been on for a while had problems with my internet connection. So the reason for my blog is to update you all and also to tell you ive had the swine flu vaccination.
So firstly went to see my consultant and got my stomach measured and i'm measuring 30cms! Which is way bigger than the average i should be. The nurse said she always measures a little big anyway and it was nothing to worry about. Everything else was normal, BP, Urine, babys heartbeat and had my blood tests done. All diabeties tests came back negative and my weight is steadily increasing now which she was happy about - SO, i don't have to see the consultant anymore i can go back to midwife care, woohoo.
So i saw my midwife about a week later and she saw the measurement was 30 cm and was like, wow are you carrying an elephant in there. She explained its fairly normal and that the baby could have had a growth spurt and in most cases its likely they even out but that if she continued growing at this rate the baby would weigh 11lb 3 by the time she was due. Ouch! So going back in a couple of weeks to check the babys growth has settled.
Midwife also suggested i book my antenatel classes now as they book up really fast, and sure enough, they cant get me in until 3 days before my due date! Cutting it way too fine! So i have to see my midwife again on monday so she can add me on extra somewhere as only she as the authority to do that. She also has to sign some papers for me.
As if i hadn't seen enough health professionals over the last couple of weeks also had my swine flu vaccine on wednesday. Didn't hurt at all, nurse explained nly side effects could be a swollen arm, feeling a bit virusy and a swollen throat if i had an allergic reaction, i thought not too bad, i can deal with that, wrong!
My arm is KILLING me where she injected me. It hasn't swollen at all but its so sore and heavy and also difficult to move. Just the feel of my t shirt on it hurts. Also have a really sore throat, not swollen just sore and dry, headaches, body aches and shivers oh its gross. Its nothing like i can imagine the swine flu must be like its just my body fighting it but oh my god, its a hassle i could do without!
Anyway bump is groing by the day, still getting finances sorted now im on maternity leave and as ive mentioned had lots of health appointments. I still have so much to organise and sort out. Paperwork and money is first priority. I have a few crazy days and then need a couple of days of simple rest to recover.
Ive gone on long enough now, but as i haven't updated for a month there was lots to talk about! I'll post another belly pic at 30 weeks. Hope to hear from you all soon, take care, kate x x
