30-12-2009 - 35 weeks -Braxton Hicks In love with my little girlMy mood while writing this blog:
In love with my little girl

Hi Everyone,

Well as i'm sure you all know from my ramblings earlier i was a little confused by the arrival of those pesky Braxton Hicks. I think the combination of loosing some mucus and alot of wishful thinking that it was labour time made me a bit quick to jump to conclusions. I won't be doing that again and at least now i know what Braxton Hicks feel like, that was my first noticable one! Or few whatever it was.

I did call the midwife in the end just for some reassurance and she was lovely, and told me to take some paracetamol and take a bath, which i've done and i feel absolutely fine now! And a bit silly for over reacting. I'm wearing a pad overnight just to keep an eye on the discharge but i think everything will be fine, i feel back to normal.

I'm looking forward to the real thing though, not the pain of course but i can't wait to meet her now and am so fed up of being pregnant, but I know she has her growing to do and she's in the right place to do that. I've got everything ready for her now. Plenty of nappies, clothes, room done, everything clean and washed and even finished packing our hospital bags.

The moses basket is in its place in our room and some of her things are around the house, just to get used to them being there and more for our dog Holly to get used to as she has been the baby for nearly 4 years and had all my fuss and love which she is going to have to share now. Trying to make it as easy as possible for her and not too much change at once.

Anyway i think that's it for now, i'll post my picture from 33 weeks and a new one when i get to 36 weeks. I don't know if the belly will be naked in the 36 week one as the stretch marks have done some breeding of their own and i now have lots along the bottom under my belly button. They are yuck but i've seen far worse and my lovely partner is reassuring me about them. I'm lucky i suppose that they are under the belly button so can be hiden in the future.

Oh and almost forgot, we FINALLY decided on a name. If you know me on facebook please don't mention it as were keeping it a suprise for family and friends until she's born, but as most of you aren't on my facebook i can announce it, yay!

Bump will be called: Aimee Kate Bridge Dorrell

ohh..I forgot..and if your ever in any doubt about anything..call the midwives...no matter what time of day or night..because that is what they are there for..and they have heard every single question under the sun..so will be used to it..lol..don't ever feel silly about calling them...at the end of the day..it is your pregnancy and your body and baby..so if your concerned call them...if nothing else it will put your mind at ease..and help you get some rest..x

what a lovely name..☺..I was going to ask if you'd thought of one yet..oh another thing about braxtons is you can get them if you are dehydrated or really tired..my midwife told me it was my bodys way of letting me know to calm it down and look after myself..(I was over doing it with a toddler and not drinking enough or getting enough sleep..)..I was checked on monitors cause I didn't feel her moving..(she was fine just turned the wrong way so couldn't feel the kicks)..and I was having braxtons every 10 mins..the midwife didn't seem bothered..I asked her about them and she said it was totally normal..I only felt 1 of them though that was strong enough for me to feel..and couldn't feel the other 6 that had gone on when I was hooked up to the monitors..so if you do get them again..try to drink some water and rest up..and they should go away again..you will know when labour does begin..(I always thought...how will I know...and trust me...you will know)..also..I got lots of mucus too..(they don't tell you that..)..and I wore a pad towards the end there was that much..(sorry tmi)..as long as it doesn't smell bad..(like an infection) or is blood stained..it's fine..take care hunny..xx
