26-1-2010 - I\'m in very early labour!!!

My mood while writing this blog: Excited and nervous

Wooohoooo!

The pains started yesterday (Monday) at around 2pm. At the moment its a constant dull ache which is because she is so low and pushing against the cervix. I get the occassional tightening and mild contractions, but there is no regularity to them yet. I can have 2 or 3 close together and then nothing for an hour or so. Then maybe one big painful one a couple of little ones and nothing again, so like i said very early labour.

My body has been getting itself ready the past two days, im constantly going to the loo to empty my bowels (tmi but true!), and i can feel pressure in my bum and back as well as my pelvis sort of area.

I am using a hot water bottle on the tummy to ease the majority of the pain, and i'll take a bath later, been doing some walking to help gravity but its a bit sore after a while. Midwife said i can take paracetamol too but i dont want to hide any pain until i know for sure whats happening.

Could still be a while until we actually go to the hospital but 2 days of slow labour is a start at least, and midwife took all my details as if she was preparing the ward for the possibility of my arrival.

Ladies i'm so excited, i hope i continue naturally and it doesn't stop which midwife said it sometimes can. I'll keep you updated, fingers crossed she will be here soon! x x x
