Hey everyone.
Sweep was done at around noonish today(40 weeks +5days). The midwife said my cervix was still closed so nothing has happened up until now despite any previous cramping pains. But she said she managed to just about get in there and have a rummage around. It hurt a little bit at the end but probably because she had to force her way in. Glad she did though, its better than nothing.
So since the sweep, i've had a little bit more discharge than normal and its thicker but no mucus that seems to resemble a plug or anything. Have had 5 or 6 occassions of mild crampy period like pains since noon and its nearly 9.30pm now, and feel a little heavy down below.
Have no idea if these are signs things are moving very slowly or not? Guess i will soon find out. I'm hoping to get a bit of sleep soon and then maybe wake rested and things start to get going then. I am dog tired today. I had about 4 hours unbroken sleep last night as i was full of anticipation for today,and had the usual problem of having to urinate a million times! I'm also finding that just lately i like to have a hot bath before bed and then make my bedroom like an ice box by keeping the window open all night and snuggling right down under the duvet. Am i a wierdo or what! lol! Matt said he can't understand me, bless, he's closest to the window too so cant be pleasant for him, oh well! ha ha!
Well anyway, if the sweep does nothing and Aimee doesn't get herself moving i have an induction date booked in for 15th February, which is a week today. I will have to ring the ward at 10.30am that day to be told what time is best to come in. Am hoping to go naturally before then, but at least i have a date now ladies, and once im in there i don't come out without my little girl! Yay!
Overall am happy to go with the flow, am secretly hoping for some action tomorrow and if not am glad just to have a date. Just hope the week doesn't drag now!

Oh mama! Your lil buggar don't wanna come out! I hope she get's movin on her own too. I thought you already had her. No update in a few days. Labor dust blowing all around you! :)

i've never had the sweep..but those crampy period pains your describing I had those on and off for 2 days then went into labour..so I should say in 2 days you will be well on your way...good luck hunny..all the best..Xxx

I had a sweep done with my second and third pregnancy and went myself inside 2 days of having it done, but everyone is different. Good luck anyway.

Good luck hun I really hope it has worked for you but at least you know now longer than a week know wishing you all the best and hope you have a good night sleep and for it all to start tomorrow keep us posted if you can xxxx

YEP! all sounds good me dear! Sounds soo very simular to my experience, I think you may be pleasantly suprised just try to get some sleep now relax and take you mind of it if you can and now that your cervix has had abit of the old pokey, pokey! It should get the idea that its supposed to begin opening now as its done a lovely job keeping closed and keeping Aimee safe so come on now cervix DILATE!!!! hehe! I think it will do the trick and you won't need that induction! I sooo hope thats the case, As induction takes longer and can be more painful so natural's best if not you have a date now to look forward to and no matter what she will be here 15th feb! Woooohooooo! x x x
