| 27-2-2010 - Aimee is 2 weeks old! | My mood while writing this blog:Great! |
So, 2 weeks already......
Hope your all doing great! How quick have the last 2 weeks gone!? Aimee is now 7lb 4ozs which is a weight gain of 7 ozs since she was born. Also had her measured by the health visitor and she is 50.5cms which is just under 20 inches! She is doing great with the breast feeding and also doing really well getting her to go longer without feeds at night. The longest she has managed is 8 hours!(wow), but nothing is consistent yet. Were also working on leaving Aimee to settle herself more often, as dont want her to get used to being rocked to sleep and also dont want her to get used to me popping her dummy in as she wont get this done when she is in her own room which were hoping she will be in when she is 6 weeks! All a bit ambitious i know but she is usually so good i think she'll get the hang of it pretty quick.
The only problems i'm having is settling her after her feeds at night. I get too frustrated and impatient because im tired so now ive started waking Matt to ettle her. I feed her and change her nappy and then i wake matt to settle her. It only usually takes him 15 minutes or so and sometimes i'm still struggling after 2 hours. I felt bad about it at first because i dont like to wake him but there is no point me struggling for 2 hours if he can do it in 15 minutes and plus she only usually wakes once in the night if she wakes at all. She's his daughter too anyway so we should share the good with the bad shouldn't we?
As for me, I'm finally starting to heal down below! It's been 2 weeks of pain and discomfort but is finally at that managable stage now. Still got a bit to go but it's not affecting my day to day life now. Having some problems with the other end. I've suffered from day one from the bearing down during pushing. I said during the last blog about the heameroids(sp?) and they are no better. I've only got 2 little ones but they are bleeding and now i am constipated too which only makes that kind of problem worse. So now im on a high fibre diet to get things moving again! Oh man! Am feeling a bit bloated but my tummy really seems to have gone down. Im back to pre pregnancy weight, although alot of toning up is required and do with loosing a bit more weight too! But for 2 weeks after labour i dont think it looks too bad. I dont feel too bad abot the stretch marks either suprisingly, i just ignore them because i think as long as i look ok with my clothes on, who apart from Matt is going to see my skin anyway?
Can't think of anything else really, just the pictures for you to enjoy, which ive added on the main page. Hope to hear your comments
Love Kate and Aimee x x x
