what a stressful day yesterday was! I started to have intense pressure in my pelvic region and lower back. I went in to see the OB doctor. She did a swab test aand said I have bacterial vaginosis! She also said at my last scan my cervix was only measuring 2.4 which was a little worring. She sent me over to the hospital for a transvagional u/s to measure the cervix. Turns out the cervix is curved--same as my uterus and on a normal u/s you cannot see this. The transvagional one said it was closed and about 3.85cm so nothing to worry about. But what panic while I waited for the results. Now I am on metronidazole for the infection. I am a little freaked out as apparently a bacterial vaginosis infection is a known cause of late miscarriage and preterm labor! The medication says do not take during the first 3 months of pregnancy and only use with caution during the last 6 months of pregnancy if your infection has not improved on other antiobiotics. Serious stuff. Guess my ob must of thought the risk of complications from the infection were greator than the risk of taking the medicine! I have to trust that---but wow I am feeling a little freaked out now. On the good side--I have taken two pills and the pressure is already gone.... has anyone else ever had anything like this? I did get to see baby again--he was 7.76cm and a heartrate of 151!

oh scary stuff anything different in pregnancy is super scary, im sure it will all work out, best of luck and congrats on seeing little baby again!
