28-1-2011 - 11wks 4 days (scan results)

My mood while writing this blog:
deflated

ok, so the past week has gone pretty smoothly. been feeling really good. i had a slight panic attack mid week and called the sonographer that did my dating scan and made her double check that my results were all good, and she confirmed everything looked exactly as it should. big relief. anyway, not much to report from during the week. i had my dr's app this morning and am already measuring 3 weeks ahead but that is because this is my 5th baby and my uterus knows what to do so is making room for (hopefully) a nice big baby. dr app was great, left feeling really good. went to the scan this afternoon and BeGe's heart rate was 170bpm and s/he was wiggling around nicely. didnt take long to get all the appropriate measurements. one thing i wasnt banking on was the sonographer calling me an hour after my appointment telling me that BeGe has alot of fluid at the back of his/her neck and that i need to get the blood work done asap. they wanted me to go in and get the forms then but i had no car (hubby was picking his son up from an hour away) and he wouldnt be back in time to collect the forms for me so i told them i can do it 1st thing monday morning. she was pretty insistent that i not wait for the blood work so i have to go in monday morning at opening. im not stressing at this point (even tho she made it sound urgent) because i know these tests can be way off so i'm just taking it as one of those things until the blood tests come back and we see what the figures are. i already know i wont get an amnio or terminate my baby, but i dont know what is going to happen, whether i will need more appointments scans etc depending on risk so its all a case of wait and see at this point. like i said, im not stressing, not yet. im tired, and a bit disappointed as everything has been going so great and i was really looking forward to a problem free pregnancy, but i should know by now that i dont have those lol. anyways, thats all from me, just thought i would let you all know xx take care everyone, <3

Hun,just a little note to thank you again for your kindness,and your support.. That's what I need the most atm,I need all the supports that I can get... And hopefully everything will go well for us,and the rest of pregnant women on earth.. Its such a horrible feeling knowing that your baby might have a problem.. Stay postivie hun. I had my scan too and they told me with blood results I had a 1 in 268 chance of having a downs baby, which this number they consider high risk. They also told me due to my age the fact is 1 in 134 so I figure the numbers went down with the test. I'm the same as you. I'll take what the lord gives me. I pray for a healthy baby but it's all in His hands. Take care hun! Chin up, it will all be ok.

Glad your staying positive hun! That's most important.. Those results are so useless and all they do is stress us out! My gf had the same thing happen to her and all it was stress her out and make her very emotional, turned out her baby was healthy. Hang in there , thinking about you!
