| 06-1-2010 - Thank You | My mood while writing this blog:Ok |
Thank you ladies for all your comments and support about my situation on New Years. After a few days, I do know that I did the RIGHT thing. My daughter is most important to me and I would never want her to feel like that kind of behavior is okay or for her to let people treat her like that. My husband and I spent a lot of time talking about some things we would do differently at home as well, to help teach her how friends treat each other. I had a long talk with her and told her that it isn't right for boys or ANYONE to hit. I explained to her what she should do if that ever happened again with any child. She asked why I was crying and I told her how bad it hurt my heart to see someone do that to her and when she hurts, I hurt. We talked about reactive behavior and who are "good" friends are. The teacher told me that she won't play with him at school and I told them not to push the issue b/c she didn't feel comfortable going there yet and she knows I want to be around her when they are together. I told her if the teacher was there, it was okay, but she has no interest. We won't be going over there for a while.
It's sad that we as parents already have to worry about stuff like this at such a young age. I thought this started in like 2nd grade. I guess better to learn sooner than later.
Thanks again!
