My mood while writing this blog: Happy but sore

My first week with Jake has been pretty good - getting used to motherhood now. At first i was a bit nervous with holding him and things but now ive got the hang of it!! I keep telling myself hes not a china doll and hes not guna break!

I had a couple of bad nights with him where he'd have his feed and not settle down for like 4 hours in the night and i was so tired!!!! But now ive learned to give him his bottle and then put him in his car seat and rock him for a while with the tv on for background noise. He soon drops off and i can get a few hours sleep until his next feed!!

The first day i had him he didnt feed for 16 hours... which worried me a bit! He weighed 8lb 5oz at birth and the midwife came round the other day and weighed him and hes now 7lb 15oz which is normal. Hes a little greedy sod tho lol.. hes on 4oz every 4 hours! He'll soon be on 5oz!!

I did try to breast feed him at first but my iron levels were shockingly low and my milk didnt come through until the 2nd/3rd day! Then he just wouldnt latch on. I am a bit dissappointed but as long as hes feeding from something i dont mind!

Im still a bit nervous about bathing him but im sure it'll get easier. I just dont wana drop him!!

Hes changing so quickly - hes a little diamond!!! I love him so much xxx
