05-2-2010 - Update on Jakes illness

My mood while writing this blog: Ok

It doesnt seem like I've blogged in ages!!!

Referring to my last blog 'Hospital', Jake has not had dairy products in his diet since way before christmas.. Ive seen so many doctors its unreal!!

Just before Christmas, Jake was sick again. I thought nothing much of it really cuz doctors were telling me it'd pass. Day before Christmas eve we were due to go to Spain to spend Christmas with my Mum and Step Dad. But because Jake was ill again I decided it'd be best if I stayed at home. Then the day I was due to go to Spain I was ill myself. I just felt bloated in the morning to begin with and then as the day went on I felt worse. By about 4pm I was being sick every 10 minutes. By 7pm (baring in mind Jake was ill aswell) he fell asleep on my Nans lap VERY quickly... We started to panic cuz of what happened last time he felt all lethargic!! So my nan rang an ambulance cuz it took us about 2 minutes to properly wake him up. At this point, I was still very sick.

When we got to the hospital the doctors could see I was ill aswell and checked me over, put me on a drip and did tests. To cut a long story short, Jake was tested same time as me and he was taken to another ward while I had to stay in A&E. Turns out that we both had the noro virus.

Due to this, Jake has been lacto-intolerent which basically means he cant have anything dairy. But its gone on for 2 months now, surely he'd be ok on milk?? His nappies are ALOT better now so im slowly introducing dairy products back into his diet. Poor child not being able to eat chocolate all over christmas :(

On a more positive note, I managed to finally get to Spain to see my mum and step dad. My mum come back to the UK with me to help me move house.

Now me & Jake are finally settled & getting back to normal!! xxxx
