26-10-2009 - triple blood test. very sadMy mood while writing this blog:
very sad

hi,i had a phone call from the hospital this morning my results from my triple blood test for down syndrom has come back, for my age the cut off line is 250 so 250 or higher is good news but my results have come back as 1 in 98 chance, so im very sad today, i was told to go to the hospital for a chat which i went down at 1pm.the consultant is off today so i will be having a phone call tomorrow to tell me when to go hospital for the amniocentesis..its a very hard decision as iv got a 1 in 98 percent chance of something being wrong plus iv got 1 in 100 percent chance of miscarriage iv gone thro 3 miscarriages and ectopic i was thinking every thing was going ok this time,, wish me luck.xx

Hi. I am age 41 and my results came back at 1/100 . I had a CVS done at 13-14 weeks and got the all clear. So dont think that just cos you got 1-98 chance it will be bad news. Stay positive and believe that your bubs will be fine. x

I hope everything went well with the additional testing. My doc told me (I'm 38 yrs) that my results would come back abnormal simply b/c of my age. I chose not to get the triple/quad screen so that I don't worry. Whatever is.. is. I explained that I was more concerned with neural tube defects and he said those can be detected with ultrasound so I am not doing all of the "advanced maternal screening". Most of the time all will come out o.k, I'm praying for you and sending you strong, positive thoughts. xxxooo

Hi, I am new member to this website. I am very sorry to hear what you are going through, but you are not alone. I am 29 yrs old and my screening also came back 1/100 for down syndrome. I am really scared. I have two beautiful healthy/normal boys and I just can’t imagine having a child with down syndrome. I am scheduled for a level 2 ultrasound on wed Nov 4th. I wish you the best! Good luck! I will keep you in my prayers...

Oh no, hope it works out well. 1 in 98 is a decent chance remember! I took the decision not to have the test, as it wouldn't change whether or not I went through with the pregnancy. I hope it all goes well for you. x
