02-4-2009 - Gender of the baby!!!

My mood while writing this blog: Happy happy!!!

OK, this is craziness! I went for 16 week ultrasound with my doctor last Saturday and asked if she could tell the sex. She tried for a long time but kept saying she couldn't tell. At one point she did say "It might be a boy" but then continued trying to tell for a few more minutes and finally said she was sorry, but couldn't determine the sex because of the baby's position. However, I felt if she thought she saw a boy part that it MUST be a boy, right? We made one before and so it was likely we made another. Just to be sure, we scheduled a 3d ultrasound for tonight just to determine the gender. SOOOO at the appointment tonight she looked around for a few minutes, the baby was still not in the best position so I had to get up and jump around a little, but finally said "It's A GIRL!" She showed us the 3-line sign that the technician looks for and said she was sure. Of course my husband and I were both laughing and in shock because all week we have been talking about boy stuff and had the name picked out and everything. So she said we could come back this Sunday and she would look again and we would not get charged anything. So we will be going back but it looks like we're having a girl. My husband is in shock because he imagined a whole baseball team going on in the backyard and now he is switching gears to think about girl stuff. Wow. I just want to make it clear that we would and will be thrilled either way!! But having one of each is a dream come true.

Congratulations! We had to schedule a 3D ultrasound with our little one too. Sort of worries me that she's being so uncooperative before she even gets here. :-)

It sounds pretty certain to me. You must be over the moon-little girls are so much fun. I just bought lots of spring clothes for my little girl and it's still a blast. Lots and lots of congratulations!
