01-5-2009 - 20 Weeks-Ultrasound Appt

My mood while writing this blog: Good mood!

On Wednesday we went for the 20 week ultrasound. Everything was great. I can put my fears to rest about the sex of the baby, she is still definitely a girl!! My little girl Bibi was having a wonderful time in the womb, I even got to see her having hiccups at one point. The appointment was at the perinatologist office since I am at the ripe old age of almost 35, but I won't have to go back there again after this since everything is good. I'm glad it was there because they really took their time and they explained every single thing they were looking at, which was a first for me during an ultrasound and very interesting. They spent about an hour getting all the measurements so I got to see her lots! They made me stand on the scale and I was dreading that, but was pleasantly surprised to see that I've only gained 2 more pounds, making it a total of 8 during the pregnancy. In the last one I had gained about 20 pounds by now. So that was a huge relief. I am feeling fantastic except that the pelvic pain (SPD) had in the last pregnancy is starting to surface again. I can feel the tell-tale signs that it's coming on. There's not much I can really do about it so I'm just taking it slow and trying not to bend, lift, etc, too much. Luckily I don't have to move around much at work. Mentally and hormonally I am in a good place, but I really feel that I need a vacation, even if just for a weekend. A visit to Ron's parents in NC might be all I can get right now, but that's better than nothing! Well gotta go pay some bills and get ready for work. HAPPY FRIDAY/WEEKEND!!
