31-3-2009 - I passed!

My mood while writing this blog:

Hey ladies! I got a call today from my doctor's office today telling me that I passed my glucose test with flying colors. I have to tell you that I was surprised. I basically had convinced myself that I would get gestational diabetes. When I got pregnant I was already very overwt. I'm considered obese (I hate that term!) I also had been diagnosed with high blood pressure before I got pregnant. Well so far this pregnancy I've only gained 7 pounds. Also my blood pressures have been great on the meds I'm taking. I guess my point is that being fat does not necessarily mean you can't have a great pregnancy. I was very worried about that at first. I was joking around with my doctor & said that being fat has probably helped me deal better with pregnancy. All of the symptoms that the skinny chicks complain about I've been dealing with for all my life. Clothes not fitting, stretch marks, not being able to tie your shoes....Been there done that!!! I don't really want to make light about how unhealthy being overwt can be. After Max is born I really want to lose wt & get into shape. I know it's going to be hard to chase after lil man if I'm out of shape. But in the mean time I'm going to try not to worry about it so much & enjoy those Mcdonald's caramel sundaes when the cravings hit!

Im wicked excited for you.. its giving me hope!! Mines on monday and ive convinced myself i am going to fail.. I was over weight before getting prego.. and i havent gained a ton, but i eat like all sugar.. i was doing well in the begining eating sort of healthy, but now im so miserably uncomfortable all i can tink about is food... so ive got myself convinced tht i only have a week left of eating what i want... i hope not though!!!!

well congrats!!! Thats good to hear! And how the heck have you only gained 7 pounds lol! Ive gained like 11 so far if not more lol!

Hmmm, congrats on your test. I passed mine also but iron getting low. As far as being 'healthy' not 'fat'. Before I got pregnant, I would have loved to borrow some to put on my little bones! Lol. I am still small, but its nothing wrong with being bigger. You're very beautiful! And, yes, enjoy everything in your pregnancy. I know I am! Big or small- I am going to eat eat eat!!! LoL

Good for you , sometimes pregnancy has a way of putting things back into normal. I guess it is the one time in our lifes we try to THINK about eating healthy. I try to but gosh Krispy Kreme donuts.

your lucky, I had Gestational Diabetes with my first son only being 240 pounds, now that Im pregnant again six years later with twins I have flow blown diabetes and high blood pressure. I'm bigger to, but congrats thats awesome.

omg how have you only gained 7 pounds ive gained 25 pounds already and im just now in my 27 weeks today

Congrats on the glucose test. I convinced myself I had gestational diabetes too...nothing could come between me and junk food. :) After the baby's born breastfeeding would help you lose weight, and hopefully so will your support group on this site.

lol I totally feel ya girl I stepped on the scale yesterday and there like jess ur 250 , and yes we deal with so much before pregnancy , although they say its not particulary healthy to be big no one ever brings up the fact that were the majority there are more big ppl than skinny ppl not that anything is wrong with skinny girls but we are the majority did they ever think that maybe the skinny girls were the ones who should be picked on , sometimes I get soo mad at stupid commercials every commerical time u see a weight loss add , really plays with our emotions we think were all aliens , I say be happy with u who u are , the way u look is a small fraction of who u are and well hey if ur happy than why do ppl have too rain on our parade I have a amazing life and great people in it and I dont think weight should be such a big deal , I mean yes there are limits but in my eyes if ur 200 pounds or whatever so what , if ur happy what does it matter u know , ur life is ur perogative , anyways those are just my thoughts lol on the whole big situation, too me u do not at all look fat , and I think ur still ok too enjoy a sundae from mc donalds I do , and If I feel like it sometimes 2 lol anyways lol have a good one just my thoughts, thought I would share with ya :)
