17-4-2009 - Move it kid!

My mood while writing this blog:
exhausted

Hey ladies! Thought I would share this crazy day I had. Since Wednesday I've been having pain on my left lower back. It is the same pain I had when I had my ectopic pregnancy. Well obviously its not one of those so I just chalked it up to the stretching of old scar tissue as the baby grows. That itself was not a big issue, but I also started feeling Max move less. Today a whole 2 hours went by with no movements that I could feel. And believe me I tried! Loud noise, shaking him, sugar water....Well I called my ob/gyn & they said to go right away to L&D at the hospital. I really lost it at that point cause I kind of expected them to just reassure me or have me come to the office. So I start crying hysterically & called my fiance at work. I could hardly speak cause I was upset so he didn't know what to think. He works about 40 minutes from me so my mom went with me to the hospital & he met us there.The whole way there I prayed to God to let our son be okay. I begged Max to please move for mommy. I thought about what our life would be like with out him. I almost drove myself crazy. When they hooked me up to the machine I said another prayer & then I heard his heartbeat. What a joyous, miraculous sound that was! His heart rate was fine at 145 & after he was hooked up I could see his movements on the printout. He was moving around a lot but there still were times I couldn't feel it. The nurse said that was okay. I was a little upset they didn't do an ultrasound, & we still don't know why I have the pain or his movements were decreased. But I did learn that I need to trust more in God & appreciate every moment (and movement) he gives me with Max. Never again will I complain about being kicked too hard or wakened by too much movement. Kick away lil Max, kick away!!!!!

That drove me crazy when I seemed like I hadn't felt my lil ones kick in a while ahhhhh!! Its funny how they know how to raise your anxiety levels before they are even born :)

Glad all is okay. It is so scary sometimes. Just think in about 8- 10 weeks we will be getting scared over other things besides wether they move or not.

I'm glad everything turned out to be ok and I feel you on complaining about movement. A couple of months back, we were begging for movement and then when we get it, we complain about it. LOL. Be careful what you ask for!! I love to feel my son move. It assures me he's alive and well!!

If you were doing alot during the day you could have put him to sleep. try a little oj next time see if that gets him moving. You did do the right thing. I am so glad everything is great.

Well I am so glad that lil heart beat was there strong...I know how you feel on needing to trust in god...but when the unknown is scarey it is hard to have the right thoughts at the right time...i know u cant wait to hold ur lil max..good luck and have a blessed pregnancy

I've had similar scares. Sometimes it'll seem like my entire work shift (8 hours) she'll be completely still. Luckily she's started moving before I headed to the hospital. I am thankful for every kick now, too.

my lil one does that too me too, and well I just look at it whats meant too be will be, kinda sad but I really dunno what else too do but I do know how u feel its very frustrating I worry too

I am glad everything is okay. I really do know how you feel, well to a certain extent. I mean, I didn't feel my little girl move for just THIRTY MINUTES! Lol. And I almost went psycho. I mean, she didn't move at all while I shined the flashlight on my belly, drank ice cold water, ate food- all in that thirty minutes and she just sat there. Then I went to call my mom and she started kicking away before the phone could ring! My baby is stubborn
