04-5-2009 - No you didn't!!

My mood while writing this blog: surprised

Hey ladies! So Friday night my mother & I were going to dinner at my fiance's mother's house...... or so I thought! So we pull up to her condo from a different direction than usual & Malcolm tells me that we have to park here cause there is no parking & walk over through a short cut in the club house. I'm a little pissed cause I really don't feel like walking. Well we head to the clubhouse door & SURPRISE!!!!! He had set up a surprise baby shower for me! The cold part was that I didn't have a clue & it had been in the works since March. I'm usually pretty perceptive about things like this & this was actually the first time in my 36 years that I have ever REALLY been surprised. I had told him from the get go that I really didn't want a baby shower cause I didn't want all the hassle. So anyway he had managed to pull this off along with planning our wedding (May 10) without me suspecting a thing. God I love this man!!!! It was really special. Along with food & opening gifts his sister sang a really beautiful song from the Wiz. Also all the guests took turns giving me encouraging words & expressing some really beautiful thoughts about me & the kind of mother and wife they think I will be. I almost cried several times. I did get some things for the baby but the show of love from my friends & family was the greatest gift of all!
