Hey ladies! Thought I'd give an update since I'm awake at 3:02 am with my son not wanting to sleep :). Well on Tuesday Max will be one month old. It seems as though I've known him forever. He is such a serious little man. He isn't smiling yet but I have seen hints that he is trying. On Friday he went to the doctor & had his tongue clipped (he was born tongue tied). The procedure took seconds, he didn't bleed & he only cried very briefly. We were so relieved that it was so easy & painless. It was so cute seeing him stick his little tongue out for the first time. Right after the procedure (in the doctor's office) he also breastfed for the first time! Before I had to pump because he couldn't latch on. Unfortunately my milk supply is almost nothing now so he only gets about 2 oz of breast milk & the rest is formula. Speaking of formula, as you may remember I had been giving Max soy formula due to extreme gas with the regular kind. I asked his doctor about this & she said soy was ok but she would like for me to try the sensitive type formula from simulac instead because there is some controversy on whether soy may cause sterility later on in life! I will be trying the other type as soon as this container of soy runs out. Also he weighed 10pd, 12 oz, & was 23 inches. He definately is a big boy! So big, in fact we had to go out & buy him a crib today. I thought I would get about 3 months out of the bassinet, but he was busting out of it already. So tonight is the first night in the big boy crib & I think he is having some anxiety about it. It's been difficult getting him to sleep tonight. He will fall asleep, but it seems like when he opens his eyes he starts to cry until me or daddy come to him. Like he wants to make sure we are still here! All challenges aside, I'm really enjoying this time with him while I'm on maternity leave. My husband found a new job about a week after he was laid off from his other one. Thank God, but I wish we could have had more time with him too. He ended up only getting 2 wks with us before he started back to work. I can't complain because I'm grateful to God he is working at all. The last two Saturdays my husband has made it "mommy day" & has cared for Max while I go & do what I need to do. This has included shopping & going to get my nails done. I really am lucky because he is great with Max & I have no anxiety leaving the two of them. He wants to start getting used to it now because when I start back to work in September he will have him all weekend by himself due to me working 16 hour shifts on Saturday & Sunday. Well sorry this is so long. The baby is finally asleep so I better get some too! I hope all of you are well & I have really enjoyed getting to see all of the new additions to your families & hearing everyone's updates. I added pictures of Max's new crib to my nursery link if you want to look. It was nice finally getting to see the bedding set actually on the crib! (It was one of my first purchases after I found out I was pregnant). Take care & God bless...

yeah, i'm looking forward to seeing my monkey crib set in action! glad all is well! 2 oz isn't that bad considering you haven't been pumping or feeding him regularly - i think i only get about 3 myself.

Im glad everything is going so well and the procedure wasn't that awful!! Getting rid of the bassinet makes me cry lol
