30-7-2008 - tomorrow....

My mood while writing this blog:
worried....

Well tomorrow I have a detailed 13 week ultrasound and blood test... Origonally I thought that I would be so excited for this appointment but as it gets closer I'm am so nervous. If you haven't read my page my last pregnancy ended at about 20 weeks when it was determined that our baby had excencephaly (a rare nueral tube defect). We went in for an ultrasound excited to find out the sex of our baby and left devistated and confused. During that pregnancy I had an ultrasound at 7-8 weeks and then another at about 19. This is why the nueral tube defect wasn't discovered until then. Although they say that it was just a "fluke," I can't help but think they don't know enough about it and that's why they call it a fluke. Part of me thinks that it's something in my diet or lifestyle.. If it was a "fluke" than why are these nueral tube defects so much more common now than they were 50 years ago?? Well anyway, are appointment is at 8 am. Reguardless the outcome, I'm sure I'll write a blog... Wish us luck! Kelly

Hey girl! I have been away for a while and was wondering how your ultrasound went... I hope everything looks fine with your baby.
I decided not to take all the tests they do for down sindrome and birth deffects, I am just doing the level 3 ultrasound next month.
Let me know how your ultrasound went!

Good luck at your appt. You got me kinda scared now:) It is a common disorder? Im finding myself sometimes not "feeling" too pregnant so I get scared..but it is a blessing:) Maybe its the 3 year old Im chasing around that keeps me distracted! LOL

aww i understand why ur worried but im sure everything will go just fine :) i just had my NT scan on monday and the u/s was amazing! just try to take everything one day at a time and enjoy every moment. i wish u the best!
