22-8-2008 - confused.....

mmmmmmm, so I'm confused about how you calculate how many months you are pregnant..... In the past I've always heard people refer to being pregnant in months (3 months, 4 months, etc etc)... It wasn't until I became pregnant myself that I realized that pregnancy was more accurately measured in weeks... Anyway, at 16 weeks how many months does that make you??? I would think 4... 16 divided by 4 is 4.... but when I clicked on a 16 week update it said, "welcome to month 5" mmmmmmm, so I don't really get it.... anyone know the correct breakdown???

I heard they never calculate your pregnancy from your first 4 weeks as it's the egg fertilising stage so they go by the following month. Even though your missed period is that current month. You will be 16 weeks pregnant, ie 4 months but given your fertilising month, you are in month 5. I don't really understand it much either. click on my babys development link on my page, think that has more info.. x

Maybe it's the start of the 5th month as week 16 would be the last week of your 4th month! How are you anyway? Have you got another ultrasound booked? mine will be on the 2nd september.. looking forward to seeing bubba again! xo

I think it means that your done with the 4 weeks in your 4th month, and now your into week 1 of your 5th month.
