| 31-1-2009 - aarrrrrrrrrggggggg | My mood while writing this blog:freak\'n frustrated |
So around 6 pm yesterday I started noticing some menstral cramps. They were pretty annoying but managable. I told my husband and he immedietely thought that tonight was going to be the night. I took a shower to see if it would go away but it didn't. My husband (being the hypochondriact that he is) was like, "should we go to the hospital, should we go to the hospital" over and over (very annoying). Well we layed in bed awhile and the cramps and pain still persisted. He talked me into calling the hospital (stupid)... So I call L&D with the intentions of telling someone about my symptoms and having them say, "it sounds like your having the start of contractions, wait it out and come it.." ahhhh no... Instead I get some jackass nurse on the phone who completely confuses me with her list of questions. I was trying to answere them but they were way to specific and my answers were things like "well kind of.." Anyway, by the end of our pointless conversation she tells me to "hang up and call 911." For pete's sake! Well after that pointless annoyence I decided that I would never try to call again. If I'm in pain we will try to time it and go. So at about midnight the contractions started becoming more defined and I was starting to feel a beginning and an end to them. I started writing down times of when they started.. It seemed like they were coming ever 6 to 8 minutes. I had had some bleeding (not a lot) earlier in the day so we decided to just go. I figured I wouldn't sleep without peace of mind anyway. Well, we get to the hospital and Dominic drops me off in front of the ER (we were told that L&D was directly above the ER.. lie)... Some girl working in the ER volunteers to walk me to L&D because it is SO FAR AWAY... I felt like a mouse in a maze walking with her.. Well I get into L&D and the "greeters" stare at me and say "can I help you." AHHH, I was already tounge tied.. "um yeah, I um, am 39 weeks pregnant and have been having regular contractions and want to know if I"m in labor.." (probably the wrong thing to say but whatever).. I end up in a "screening room" (probably reserved for idiots like me who dash to the hospital over every little pain) and they monitor my contractions. Well, at least I didn't look like a liar cause I was definetely having them (just not that strong).. After a couple nurses are in and out some condescending young female Dr comes in, stares at me, blinks a couple times, turns off the machines, and says, "what can I do for you today?" I wanted to say "ahhh, I don't know bitch, tell me I'm in labor.." She examined me and found that I was still 2cm dialated and 75% effaced. She then rambled on in a condescending elementary school voice about labor and contractions, and how I could feel these pains for another 5 weeks, etc... The whole time were sitting there hearing some women screaming bloody murder from another room.... When we left L&D we naturally got lost in the hospital trying to find and exit by our car.. We got home around 3:30 am and I took tylenol pm.. I slept some last night but definetely was awake for ever contraction (yippie!). I woke up today, still having these regular contractions (I think there more painful now) and don't really know what to do with them.. Just sit here in misery all weekend? I now wish they would just end and I'll take my Monday induction. The last thing I want to do is run off to the hospital again to be treated like an idiot and sent home. ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh
thanks for reading :)
