04-9-2008 - First Night in the Crib

My mood while writing this blog: okay

Last night was Muggins first night all by herself in her crib. She'd been sleeping in our room since we came home from the hospital. It was a LOT harder than I thought it would be to have her so far away...you know, in the East Wing, rather than the Master Suite, overlooking the Rose Garden in the West Wing - Muahahahaha! Lol, I kid... We're in a nice little condo, and even though it's pretty spacious, it seemed even more so once I started checking in on her. We put her down at around 9:30 and she slept until 7:30 this morning. She didn't wake up at all which was a big change from her 3-4 am feeding schedule she'd been on. I liked having the somewhat uninterupted sleep (hubby can be quite the sheet hog, lol!) but I would much rather rewind the clock to her first night home... having her right there with us made the transition from preggo lady to Mommy and Daddy a lot easier. I was so used to her kicks and wiggles in my belly at night, it didn't seem right to just stick her in another room and separate our bond so quickly. Hubby and I have been discussing the right time to start trying for baby #2 and it sounds like within a year or so. I need to shed the last of my baby weight first so I can gain it all back! HAHAHA!!! I love being a mom and I can't wait to do this all again soon... XOXO
